Irish Stars Parker School of Irish Dance
Sisters, Dawn and Jacque Parker share over 25 years of
Irish Dance experience. They are members of a new organization as of
March 2009, in which they are co-founders of. The Irish Stars Parker
School of
Irish dance was established in June 2007. The school focuses primarily
on performance, but offers opportunities to compete. The Parker sisters
have had experience in performance, creating shows, costumes,
choreography and set design. Their goal is to create shows that feature
innovative costuming and contemporary Irish dance, following in the
footsteps of the inspirational legend Michael Flatley.
- They strive to instill in all their dancers confidence, skill, and the love of Irish dance.
- They believe in community service and giving back to the community through dance.
- They want to teach all students who have the desire to learn the
skill whether they are Irish or not. Irish dance is a dance form that
is for anyone.
- We encourage any child from 3 through adult who would love to try Irish dance to come to our school.
- We provide a positive environment where everyone is a star!
Our Story
Dawn and Jacque Parker taught with CLRG TCRG's for
over seven years, competed competitively at local and regional CLRG
competitions, and have been teaching their own classes since 2005.
In 2005, they began teaching Irish dance physical
education credit/non-credit courses and began an Irish dance club at
Moravian College where they had the opportunity to share their love of
Irish dance.
The Irish dance club formed a performance group called the Moravian Stars Irish
Dance Troupe. The troupe has been performing around the Lehigh Valley
and Bucks County area since 2005. Appearances include Celtic Classic
with Greenwich Meantime, Musikfest with Brother, and the Allentown St.
Patrick's Day parade.
In June
2007, the Irish Stars Parker School of Irish dance was established.
Students competed regional open platform compeitions
where they took home awards in solo dancing, freestyle numbers and
group performances.
The school has since performed with Brother at
Musikfest, restaurants, senior citizen centers, and other local and
Philadelphia venues. They have also performed for the organizations
Dream Come True and Easter Seals.
In spring of 2008, the Parker sisters began an after school club and dance lessons at St. Theresa School in Hellertown, Pa.
Today, the Parker sisters are working on new endeavors
for the future. They want to share their love of Irish dance with you.

Dawn Parker
Dawn
is the co-founder of Irish Stars Parker School of Irish dance, which
was established in June 2007. She is the founder and one of the
instructors of the Moravian Star Irish Dance Troupe/Club, founded in
2005 at Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She graduated in
2006 with a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education and English from
Moravian College. Previously she graduated with an Associate Degree in
Education from Northampton Community College.
Dawn studied Irish
dance with a her local IDTANA TCRGs for ten years and taught with them
for seven years where she established skills in performance, creating
shows, costumes, choreography and set design. Over her decade of
dancing, she performed with and for many events and organizations. She
competed in local and regional feiseanna and performed for countless
venues during her dancing career.
She is the founder and a
co-instructor of the Irish Dance Club after school program held at St.
Theresa School in Hellertown, Pennsylvania, which was established in
2007.
In 2009, Dawn helped co-establish the North American Irish Dance Federation.
Jacque Parker
Jacque
is a co-founder of the Irish Stars Parker School of Irish dance with
locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She grew up performing and
competing at local and regional competitions, in which she competed in
championship level. She studied with a her local IDTANA TCRGs for
ten years and taught with them for seven years where she established
skills in performance, creating shows, costumes, choreography and set
design. Over her decade of dancing, she performed with and for many
events and organizations.
In 2005 she co-instructed the Moravian
Star Irish Dance Troupe/Club and in 2007 located at Moravian College,
in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She also assists with the St. Theresa
School after school Irish dance program in Hellertown, Pennsylvania.
Jacque
received her Associates Degree in Education from Northampton Community
College in 2007. She will be graduating with her Bachelor Degree in
Communication with a professional application in technical theater
costume design in May of 2009 from DeSales University.
In 2009, Jacque helped co-establish the North American Irish Dance Federation.
